Recent Projects

My two most recent projects were a wine cellar and a wall of cherry built-in cabinetry. Two very different projects in size and scope but both very enjoyable with great outcomes. The wine cellar is a great example of quality not quantity. Although the space was only 6′ x 6′, it holds 460 bottles of wine. Custom features such as a hidden pullout shelf for use when opening your favorite bottle is just one of the many features available when you choose custom cabinetry instead of stock shelving. Although I have built some very large cellars which you can see on this site, this project is a great example of what can be done in a smaller space. I was fortunate to work with my talented friend and colleague, Gail O’Rourke www.gailorourke.com on the wine cellar. Gail designed the space and together we carried out the build and installation to the clients delight.

The cherry built-ins are a great example of a project that completely transformed a room. A renovation project combined two rooms in to one, creating a 28′ long wall with a raised; recessed fireplace without a hearth toward one side. Custom built cherry cabinetry allowed for plenty of storage space in the lower sections while leaving open adjustable shelves for displaying person items. The addition of a mantel and hearth brought the fireplace to life while blending it seamlessly with the rest of the space.

  1. Mike built these built-ins for us. The results were better than my wife and I could have dreamed of. Mike was extremely professional and the quality is exceptional. I would recommend Mike to anyone.
